Voting Question: Where can i find cool laptop sleeves?

I am looking for a laptop sleeve for my dell xps 15" laptop. I didn't fit in the normal 15" case so I am going to get a 17" or a 17" macbook case. I would like to get one with a cool design on it like the designer sleeve brand. I am a guy and prefer something not girly. If you could give me a brand name and possibly a site that gives discount prices that would be great.

Resolved Question: Proofread my essay please?

I'm 13 years old, and I wrote this for English. We were supposed to write persuasive essays on select topics. Can you proofread this for me? When you list the issues to fix, please write what paragraph it's in. And if you can, can you give me any more suggestions to add to the 5th paragraph? I really want an A. Thanks! Y!A won't indent the paragraphs for me, so I had to add hyphens. :c ---Do you think students should be required to wear school uniforms? I think so because school uniforms decrease the amount of clothing-related arguments and violence. Uniforms are also economical, and they help students focus and gain respect for the school and teachers. ---Those who can’t afford name-brand clothes are often sensitive about their clothing. When everyone has different clothing everyone notices what others are wearing, and they are instantly judged on that. Children sometimes compete with each other over clothing. Some even use certain fashion accessories as weapons, or to conceal weapons. When the uniform policy was instituted in Long Beach, the district reported a 34% decrease in assault cases, a 51% decline in physical fights, and a 32% decrease in suspensions. Those percentages were from the American School Board Journal. ---Another reason why students should be required to wear school uniforms is because they’re economical. Uniforms last longer because they’re made for “wash and wear”. Parents only need to buy 2-3 skirts, shirts, or pairs of pants to last for an entire school year. Depending on your school, you can buy school specific items at a reduced price. Most schools require “generic” items that can be bought anywhere. Parents can buy their children’s uniforms at discount stores to save money. The cost of buying uniforms can be less than if you were buying designer outfits. ---The last reason is that they help students focus on schoolwork, and with the task of gaining respect for their school and teachers. When students are dressed in their uniforms, they’re reminded that their “job” is to be a student. The presence of school uniforms seems to promote a culture of respect. Also, students would be less focused on their overall appearance than students who don’t wear uniforms. They would look exactly like the kid next to them, and they would focus more on their studies than their outfit. ---People with a different opinion think that uniforms take away the student’s right to express themselves. Students can express themselves in other ways, like by wearing appropriate accessories or through art or music. You don’t have to express yourself with just clothing. ---Schools should have their students wear uniforms because they decrease the amount of clothing-related arguments and violence. Uniforms help students focus on schoolwork, gaining respect for their school and teachers, and they’re economical.

Voting Question: Discounted designer jeans?

I usually buy Levi's and True Religions, but I've been wanting to find a cheaper alternative to my True Religions... mostly because I don't make any money of my own because I'm still under 18 and rely on my parents' money ;) I'm looking for something between $80 to about $120 that lasts long and has good quality and design. I'm also pretty close to the King of Prussia mall and a couple outlet malls too, so I'm pretty sure there's lots of brands available near me. If anyone knows a good brand for me to look at please let me know!!! p.s. I like jeans with unique colors, distressed styles, metallic finishes, etc.. thanks! please no second hand jeans!!!

Voting Question: 20 yr old daughter spends all her money, than asks me for money?

We bought our daughter a brand new car cash, no loan when she was 18, she attends a local college, and works very part time waitressing and babysitting. She makes at least $100 month babysitting, and makes very good money waitressing weekends. I told her to save money for books and some tuition costs every 6 months, which run around $500 for books and $l,000 tuition. She is on my car ins policy. During the summer she spent her money on a trip, so I helped pay tuition. This time she spent $300 on her friends gifts (anywhere from $40 to $120 a friend), went out to eat a lot and needs money again. I pay for her hair highlights and cuts, and buy her designer clothes too at discount store. I am disabled and husband is retired, we limited income (she knows this) & a good mortgage too. My other child lives at home and pays some of the bills. We are all thrifty, not her. She goes out almost every night, says she is at her friends house, and refuses to tell me what she makes, but when she owes me money and has to pay me she gets really nasty. She has me over a barrel in that she always needs the money "for school stuff", but she has slipped and said she often makes over $200 weekend waitressing, now she is not making money as people are not eating out because of Christmas. What upsets me is that we go through this a lot, but in the summer can cough up $600 no problem to visit her friend out of state. She does not help at home w chores. Any opinions please!

Resolved Question: How can someone else have my exact email address if they have to register with yahoo, wouldn't yahoo block it.?

I recive about a hundred emails in my bulk folder daily. I don't mind, I just review the bulk mail and empty the folder, but sometimes a relevant email will be in my bulk folder and I just move it to my inbox. My two questions are: 1:a) Why do I recieve so much bulk mail, and 1:b) how can I stop them ? and 2 :(and this is the important one) I recieve an email in my bulk folder at least once a week from tsoldo@yahoo.com, that is the exact same email as mine, and it says: The finest Swiss Rolex watches & brand bags Deae customer!! Discover a wide range of hot quality Rol_ex watchs offered at discount prices. Among the timepieces on sale make sure to choose a top desinger's watch of famous brand featuring exactly the function and style you need. Hurry up..... Find 2007 Top designer Swiss Ro lex watches !! GOGO http://uyrabomuy.com so i click the link, I go to the website , and it really is replica watches, but the actual address is: http://www.soeiejwj.com/ and the site is called Prestige Replicas. My biggest concern is not that I am being solicited, but that someone else can have the exact same email as mine, Anyone could email anyone else using my email address and they would think it was from me, you understand? How is this possible that someone else can have the same exact email as me? I don't want to change my email address after all these years, but, I assume that you have the power to stop someone else from using my email address, by threatening to cancel their yahoo account. Thank you . Sincerely, Tony Soldo

Resolved Question: UK sites like rue la la, gilt and hautelook?

I'm looking for online discount boutiques that sell high end designer clothes and deliver to UK at a reasonable cost. For the reference, by 'designer' i do not mean brands like diesel or guess or lacoste - i'm not 12 anymore. Lanvin, chloe, michael kors, valentino, nanette lepore and tibi are a few examples what i mean by 'designer', if that's any help to you in order to help me! If there are other fashion obsessed people out there i'd really appreciate your help :) xx

Resolved Question: Where in Toronto can I get discounted designer clothes (eg. Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie)?

I'm travelling to Toronto. I'm looking to buy discounted brand named clothes, especially Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie, Hollister etc?? Which outlets or factory stores or shopping centres are the best ones to go to or the ones to avoid?? Thanks

08/09/2011 09:33 PM

Resolved Question: Is Tommy Hilfiger considered a designer brand?

I was just wondering this xD I bought red skinny jeans from TK Max a year or so ago for about 15 pounds and when I got them home I realised they were Tommy Hilfiger :'D Cause for people who don't know, TK Max is like a kind of discount shop that takes clothes from other shops that didn't sell so they just have rails and rails of clothes and you have to go searching but then you are rewarded cause stuff is so much cheaper because you didn't get it in the original shop. But I was wondering if it is considered a designer brand or is along the same lines as Hollister etc where they are expensive but not designer.

Voting Question: My 90 day Temp-to-Hire as turned into 8 months, what should I do?

I accepted a 90 day temp to hire position, which I believed was going well. (This is my first "real" job and I don’t have a large base of experience to compare it to.) I didn’t receive a single review, or feedback of any form, until the end of the 90 days. Then I got a terrible review. The employer gave me a second 90 day period. At 30, 60 and 90 days I made a point of requesting a review. At 30 and 60 days I got very good reviews, but at 90 days I received no review. This is at about 6 months. I learned that another temp-to-hire wasn’t offered a permanent job with benefits and salary until a month after their temp-to-hire period had passed. I decided to be patient and wait. (the company I work for is in manufacturing and growing rapidly, so the lady who hired me has erratic and tight deadlines. ) At 7 and a half months, my teeth got bad enough to cause headaches, Im running out of eye contacts and my car is breaking down. So I send her a polite email enquiring about my job status at the company, not whining but mentioning I need to make a few pressing decisions. She went on vacation at 7 months 3 weeks. At the end of 8 months I had to take off for my sisters wedding. I figured I’d let these things pass before enquiring again. I was due back today, but had to grab an appointment at a discounted dental school this morning. I was going to come in this afternoon, Wednesday but she told me not to - She gave my work station to an intern for the day. (They took on 3 interns, with only 2 work stations. The third intern has been using a part time employees station.) Her superior is on maternity leave but coming in on Friday to meet with the owner. I’m concerned that she is going to finally let me go tomorrow, Thursday, before her superior comes back in. Additional Info: The company I’m designing for has 5 brands and thousands of products, but i only received comprehensive training on their primary product. If I ask a question I get an annoyed or condescending response, a response suggesting I should know this already. If I don’t ask a question I get snapped at for not asking questions (but I’ve gotten gun shy about asking, no time is ever a good time to ask.) Im having a very hard time fitting into the office and not showing disdain for my middle managers (The art director who hired me and her senior designer) as they spend a lot of time out of the office, take extended lunches for fun, are up and chatting a lot, and mostly because they Gossip about the office in the middle of the office. The job is interesting and challenging, the pay is fair, and everyone else in the company (that I’ve met) seem to be great…. Except the few I work the closest with and who are determining my employment. I cant help but feel I’m being taken advantage of because of my inexperience. Being an artist/designer, it would be very easy for this company to hire “Temp-to-Hires” to get artwork from them, then let them go because they’re “not a good fit” but then own the rights to some great artwork for cheaper than purchasing or licensing. I feel they’re doing this with the interns who are doing nothing but making concepts and artwork. I’m talented and hard working, and beyond this explanation I cant figure out why she hasn’t given me a decision yet. So… Should I press for a decision about my status? Should I just hold out and see what happens? Should I put in my two weeks? What would you do? If they fire me, do they owe me anything for this extended employment beyond a temp period? I feel like they owe me something. We had a deal that I would go salary with higher pay and benefits at the end of 90 days or they'd let me go. She's broken this deal twice. I wasn't hired through a temp agency. This isnt a temp job, it's a temp-to-hire. It was my understanding that in this case the temp period was...temporary. clayjar_azn, Im sorry you feel Im being a prima donna. I feel a deal that has been made has been broken twice. I've heard of people getting severence pay and unemployment after being fired, on specific grounds. Being inexperienced, Im wondering if this may be one of those situations. Seeing as how Im being strung along, I'm wondering if there are grounds for demanding the pay raise that was promised to me at the end of the first 90 days were the company to keep me around. They kept me on, but as a temp... why wouldnt they just let me go instead of breaking their deal? Hey Sherry, there is a remote chance I could go into another department. Its unlikely, as the two people Im having the most trouble with have been with the company for over a decade and its still a relatively tight nit company ... they hold a lot of sway. It is worth enquiring though... but at what point do I as for a department change? and how?

Resolved Question: is selling clothing from high-street and designer brands legal?

I sell clothes from a number of brands via eBay (and soon my website). I get stock from official outlet stores. I buy at 60% and sell at 50%. The shops sell at the prices they want and my customers are happy with a 50% discount. But is it legal? Nobody has ever told me it is illegal, but some people are unsure. Do I need to obtain some sort of license/permit to sell clothes copyrighted/produced by brands/designers? If you know the answer, or know anywhere I can find an answer, please answer! The items are authentic and as described. I have sold ~40 items and received 100% feedback. Thanks for the answers so far.

Resolved Question: Is Tiffany and Co. really that over priced?

I'm looking to buy my girlfriend an engagement ring but i don't want her to know I'm looking yet. I still am gonna wait a couple more years to a point where I can save up enough money to pay it all off at once. I hate paying interest. but anyways, she has mentioned several high dollar jewelry brands. So I've been looking and I could get the same size and cut diamond 1 carat for $1,200 at a discount website vs. 1 carat at tiffany's for $9,600. I know they sale retail but dam that is a big mark up! I can afford 9,600 ring but I would much rather spend 1,200. are there other designer jewelry alternatives? or am I stuck with paying 9,600? additional information: I'm just a normal guy that doesn't know anything about "designer" names or brands. me and her have talked about what style and colors and stuff like that she likes. we have been dating for a little over 2 years. I don't want her to know where I'm looking at buying a ring because I like keeping it a surprise.

Resolved Question: Web designers, help please?

I have a website, the idea for the website is to be an online community, where students can post code, software, and questions similar to yahoo answers, and get another students to answer their questions, but instead of being aimed at a wider audience its aimed at students attending one particular university. My aim is to make it a community, and later on expand it to other subject areas, connecting like minded students. I have different idea for the website, the first is to change the design, but i have no idea what to change i to, please refer me to some similar website, or if you could be kind enough to just redesign the login page and the first page that appears when you login, just to give me a guide to follow in terms of the design it would be much appreciated., I know that as someone put it, the website has the appeal of an arms manufacturer, an outdoor GPS equipment company, or a discount PC brand. the website is ( http://www.kingstonlounge.co.uk) Thanks

Resolved Question: If you were about to buy ALL OF YOUR WARDROBE, I mean everything on a limited budget what items would you?

spend the more. I mean, I need to buy EVERYTHING from underwear to winter coats, including sweaters, shoes, shirts, pants, belts, etc. etc. etc. I am a man, okey, not a woman. And my problem is this, I´m on a limited budget so I can´t buy everything expensive. Nevertheless I want to buy some expensive high quality items. For example I think that some shirts are worth like a million-gazillion cause they are designer clothes but that you can find a similar one in the gap or some other store. The price will vary by hundreds of euros but the difference (aside the brand) will not really really be that much. But in some other clothing items it will. So I was wondering WHICH ARE THE ITEMS where puting in the extra money is really worth it. I make an analogy with food so you understand what I m saying. If you go to an upscale expensive supermarket and buy canned spinachs and you do the same in the less expensive discount supermarket you will pay A LOT MORE in the first one. But the quality will really be about the same. NEVERTHELESS if you do the same with fresh meat you will also pay a lot more in the first one but IT WILL BE WORTH IT, cause the quality of both meats will have no ressemblance whatsoever. So I was wondering in the world of fashion and clothes which are the meat and wich are the canned spinachs ? THX

Resolved Question: Fashion database for out of stock/out of season clothing?

This is just a random idea that I had, and I was wondering how many people would find it useful. Problem: Most fashion stores have a certain "line" or "collection" that they keep on their website/instores for only a few months. After the line is no longer in season, excess stock from the stores will go to discount stores like TJ Maxx or Marshalls, where they get minimal exposure to buyers. If the garments are still not sold in discount stores, they end up in the trash/garbage. Months later, a lot of trashed excess stock often get similar remakes in the original stores-- isn't that a waste? So my idea was to convince designers/brands to put a call number or catalog number on every design they make, and then attach pictures of the garment to the catalog entry. The entries could then be compiled into an online database with a search engine. This way, there could be a organized way to track clothing, even when its sold out of stores or out of season. The entries can even be tagged with searchable keywords, colors, design features, "style", etc. This way, stores can make money off out-of-season clothing by allowing buyers an easy way to search through their old excess stock. This also opens up the clothing pool for buyers-- shoppers are no longer limited by what the stores have in stock. They can search the database for any article of clothing ever made, and trace down the garment either from the original store (if they have excess), or find a used garment with the catalog number. It would also minimize the waste that comes from throwing away unsold clothing and prevent the re-making of garments that have already been manufactured. I can also see a use for this type of cataloging in the used clothing market, like on eBay, or second-hand clothing stores, by allowing buyers to look for -specific- pieces of used clothing. Second-hand clothing stores could also use the database to keep exact stock of their clothes. Do you think this type of system would be useful or popular?

Resolved Question: My best friend is obsessed with expensive things and it bugs me?

Recently my best friend and I have been considering moving in together, we're both turning 18 and it will be our first time away from home. We both have full time jobs and have known each other for over 4 years. I trust her and she's been with me through everything. HOWEVER. Lately (Maybe starting about 6 months ago.) She has been completely obsessed with anything "designer" or "nice looking" or anything with a huge price tag on it. She bought a 2,000 dollar furniture set for her room when she should be saving for an apartment. She is constantly buying brand new phones just for the sake of "upgrading" She even bought a 600 dollar 33mm camera, used it a few times and sold it on craigslist for 250, then went out and bought ANOTHER 600 dollar camera because the one she had wasn't good enough. It really bugs me to see her throwing money around like this and I tell her ways she can save up, (by buying her new phones on craigslist like I did, or by using coupons or shopping at discount stores) but it's like she feels things aren't good enough unless it has a big price tag on it. I was telling her about these dishes my mother gave me for our apartment, and she said "No, I really want to get one of those nice matching 50 dollar sets from Target." I'm afraid she's not going to let me have things in my own apartment unless they're designer/expensive/matching. ANYWAYS. Do you think I should still move in with her? I love her but when she acts this way I feel like she's being petty and immature. Or do you think it's me that's over-reacting? I mean, it's her money and she can spend it how she wants, but it still disturbs me. (jealousy is not and issue, I make more dollars an hour than she does.)

Voting Question: Fun and innovative Holiday ideas for my boutique?

Hey everyone! I'm needing a little help coming up with ideas on how to attract more business and new customers to my shop during the Holiday season, as well as to make things fun for my current customers. I buy, sell and trade name brand and generally cute clothing, with the occasional designer labels. I also sell shoes, handbags, accessories, a little bit of makeup, and random pieces of art by local artists as well as a few DIY clothes. It is all unique, fun and affordable. We definitely cater to teen girls and young women and celebrate all the fabulousness of being a girl. I have made the entrance a lounge. This room contains the check out/front desk and makeup display. Near the checkout is a section that has accessories. It also has a couch, armchair, coffee table, TV, magazine rack and the occasional free cup of coffee and cookies. We actually have customers hang out from time to time. The next room has all the clothing and shoes sorted into different sizes/styles.Connected to this room is one that contains three small changing rooms and of course our back room/office. I have made the entire store have a comfortable, artsy, girly and non-cluttered feel to it. Now, if you have read all that then wow! Haha. What I really need are some great suggestions as to how I can attract new customers for the Holidays and make it fun for our loyal customers. So what should I do? Obviously flyers and discounts and fun decorations, but how can I go a step further? What would be fun for you?

Resolved Question: where can find jeans like "seven jeans," "true religion," where can I find them at discount?

I am looking for designer men's jeans like "seven for all man kind," "rock and republic," "true religion," "paper denim," "joe's jeans" at discount? * Is there any great sites where I can find great jeans at discount? *Also I know you ladies know what's popular when it comes to fashion but just wondering what brand is most popular this season and what I should go for as in jeans? I have a pair or "martin and osa" jeans they are straight leg, dark blue but not black, sand blasted fade on the top of the jeans above the knee but not to much and distressed wear around the pockets. Never really shopped there but I like there style its like "j-crew" meets "banana republic" its good! The jeans are great I just want a ladies sense of opinion? I got them on sale for $50 originally around $90, so I got them for a great price. Did I pick a pick a good pair of jeans? *Any suggestions?

Voting Question: Famous designer brand outfits? Discount!?

My mom's birthday is coming up and her and my dad are going out to eat for dinner. I have been saving up to buy her the best gift ever so she can look her best that night. I have about $900. I wanted to buy her a designer dress with some matching shoes and some other accessories. Does anyone know where I can buy designer brand things like this at a discount and what designer brand should I be looking at where I don't have to spend much more than $900?
